My own little heart project.
Die Hobo, Die! started out as an amateur project but snowballed into something much bigger once we got started and while it’s still an amateur project we are approaching it with a professional attitude. It all started five years ago when we were trying out a new gimbal I had purchased and we were playing around in the woods while filming my friend being chased by the camera. Later, I went home and made a fake trailer that looked like a bad VHS copy from the eighties and I named it.... Die Hobo, Die! Just for fun... Today, we’re still chasing the hobo, but with semi-pro cameras, steady cams and gimbals to give our amateur project a professional look. Our ultimate dream and goal is to be able to finish the movie as Die Hobo, Die! has become like a child to all of us who have worked on it.
Our movie revolves around a homeless man who gets caught up with a sinister gang of misfits with a very eccentric leader. After the hobo witnesses the gang robbing a priest, they go after the hobo and try to kill him in many different, brutal and exotic ways. The hunt for the poor hobo takes him from one weird environment to another and nowhere is safe! The movie is simple, light-hearted entertainment with a blend of violence and humour.
So this is a swedish low budget independent bumsplotaion movie featuring Troma's co-funder Lloyd Kaufman? Yes, he's the movie's humble narrator. How cool this is we must point out that Die Hobo, Die! is not in any way a product of Troma, even if we wish that would be the case! We are absolutley overwhelmed to have uncle Lloyd onboard!
The movie will hopefully be released may 2024, i'm working as hard as i can to wrap it up!
An update about the release of the movie. I got an invitation from a international streaming platform, they would love to see Die Hobo, Die! there. So now i´m working with legal rights and other fun stuff..
i will update as soon as any news surface.
